Rachel Gildiner to Join SRE Network as Executive Director

Jewish communal leader and relationship engagement champion to lead SRE Network to advance its efforts to foster safe, respectful, and equitable Jewish workplaces.

May 29, 2024 – SRE Network is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rachel Gildiner, a respected Jewish communal leader, relational engagement champion, and advocate of safety, respect, and equity, as its next Executive Director.

In this role, Rachel will drive SRE’s strategy through network building, resource sharing, and community investments, in partnership with SRE’s advisory board, staff, funders, and network members. Rachel will lead and advance SRE’s strategic plan, shape the organization’s long-term vision, and respond to emerging needs as the Jewish nonprofit landscape evolves.

Since its launch in 2018, SRE Network has grown to include more than 175 Jewish organizations and has seeded $6 million in grants to support organizations’ efforts to foster a healthy and inclusive Jewish community. Its annual report of nearly all member organizations highlights their progress toward building safer, more respectful, and equitable workplaces and communal spaces.

In addition to her extensive leadership experience, Rachel brings an enthusiastic commitment to solving multidimensional problems to catalyze meaningful change and foster healthy Jewish workplaces. In her previous roles as Chief Engagement Officer at Hillel International, Executive Director of GatherDC, and Founder and CEO of Gather Inc., Rachel crafted innovative ways to engage college students and young professionals in Jewish life. Rachel holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Columbia University and in Modern Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary. She earned her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University, and a Certificate in Experiential Jewish Education from Yeshiva University. Rachel is also a certified Ayeka Soulful Jewish Educator, a  Schusterman Senior Fellow, and the Founder and creator of the Year of the Jewish Woman (and Allies) Facebook group.

Rachel will begin her leadership role with SRE Network on July 8. She will be formally introduced and welcomed at SRE Network’s 2024 Convening: Learning Lab for Change on June 4 and 5 in New York City. Join us at the Convening to welcome Rachel to the SRE community.
