Focus Areas

SRE Network's Focus Areas

At SRE Network, our work is grounded in a set of interconnected focus areas that reflect where change is most needed and where we see the greatest potential for lasting impact.

Each of these focus areas reflects a piece of what it takes to build a Jewish communal landscape rooted in kavod (respect), accountability, and b’tzelem Elohim (human dignity).

Advancing Diverse Women’s Leadership

Equitable leadership strengthens organizations, communities, and individuals alike.

We work to increase the representation, advancement, and support of women and other underrepresented leaders across Jewish communal life. When leadership reflects the diversity of our community, organizations are more responsive, innovative, and better equipped to thrive.

Strengthening Systems of Harm Prevention and Response

Safe and respectful workplaces must be foundational, not optional.

We support organizations in building the systems, policies, and cultures needed to prevent harm, respond with care when harm occurs, and create clear accountability. This work is essential to fostering environments where people feel valued, protected, and able to do their best work.

(Harm = Sexual harassment, abuse, or discrimination in any form. This includes actions, comments or policies, whether intentional or unintentional, which communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages that target persons based upon their marginalized group identity.)

Mobilizing Men as Partners

Lasting culture change requires shared responsibility.

We engage men as active partners in advancing gender equity by equipping them to challenge harmful norms, shift power dynamics, and help build workplaces grounded in respect and fairness.

Engaging Funders for Systemic Change

Sustainable change requires aligned investment.

We partner with funders to ensure that resources are directed toward long-term, systemic impact. By aligning funding with the values of equity, safety, and inclusion, we help strengthen the entire ecosystem of Jewish communal organizations.
