Ally Against Sexual Harrassment

Ally Against Sexual Harassment Session Video

In June 2020, the Jewish Women's Fund of Atlanta hosted a film screening and panel discussion of Nevertheless, a documentary about gender-based harassment and assault in the workplace. Executive Director Elana Wien joined the panel of safety, respect, and equity experts to analyze elements of gender harassment and sexual violence from the film. Together, they share how these elements show up in the workplace and their thoughts on how we can engage in creating more safe and respectful workplaces.

SRE 2020 Convening Opening Keynote: A Compass in the Storm

As our community "sheltered from the storm" of the pandemic in this virtual convening, Executive Director Elana Wien gives the opening keynote. She begins by addressing the rising need for safe, respectful, and equitable workplaces and communal spaces during COVID-19; shares her thoughts on how the pandemic is increasing inequities in homes, particularly women-identifying people; reveals her vision for SRE Network's work in the future.

Creating Equity in Jewish Workplaces: Where We Stand

Speakers: Elana Wien, SRE Network; Gali Cooks, Leading Edge   At the one-year mark of the pandemic, efforts to make our Jewish workplaces, boards, and institutions more inclusive, empathetic, and reflective of our changing demographics have taken several major hits. Who has been hit hardest by these disruptions? How have Jewish nonprofit organizations shifted to meet emerging needs? What opportunities exist for funders and board members to play an active role in supporting greater equity in the future? What does leadership look like moving forward? What changes does the shift to more virtual work mean for these efforts? This session looks at these questions and more, as we discuss where we stand in the Jewish nonprofit workforce regarding safety, respect, and equity efforts. This event was not open to the public.

Jewish Communal Women’s Leadership Project

With 75% of Jewish organizations scheduled to be looking for new top leadership in the next few years as baby boomer CEOs retire, JWI’s Jewish Communal Women’s Leadership Project is clearing the path for women to ascend to these executive positions. A select group of senior-level women seeking C-suite positions piloted the project in fall 2019; in 2020-2021, JWI is taking the project national.

Our very own, SRE Network Executive Director, Elana Wien hosted a Masterclass on March 18, 2021.

Workshops are held monthly, February through November, led by highly-accomplished professional Jewish women in business, finance, media, and development. Many of these leaders have been honored by JWI as Women to Watch.
