Rachel's Reflections: A Message from Our Executive Director
January 2025

Tuesday, January 21, 2025 – This is a very fraught moment for the world, for our country, for the Jewish community, and for us as individuals. In less than 48 hours, we are seeing people feel unsafe and threatened for the identities they hold. We are seeing powerful individuals using disrespectful name calling. We are witnessing the removal of rights that advance equity.
In this moment, and in the years to come, SRE Network prioritizes holding the space of making sure our Jewish workplaces live the values of safety, respect, and equity, regardless of the political disruptions that will continue to surround us.
As a people-centered organization, SRE will continue to lean into and uphold the necessity that every professional in our field be treated with dignity and have equitable opportunities to lead. We must always see one another worthy of safety, respect, and equity, as we are all b'tzelem elohim (created in the image of G-d). That is our work in the year ahead. And we will need to do it together
"In a place where there is no humanity, strive to be human." Pirkei Avot 2:5
