As our community "sheltered from the storm" of the pandemic in this virtual convening, Executive Director Elana Wien gives the opening keynote.
Speakers: Elana Wien, SRE Network; Gali Cooks, Leading Edge. At the one-year mark of the pandemic, efforts to make our Jewish workplaces, boards, and institutions more inclusive, empathetic, and reflective of our changing demographics have taken several major hits.
Our very own, SRE Network Executive Director, Elana Wien hosted a Masterclass on March 18, 2021. With 75% of Jewish organizations scheduled to be looking for new top leadership in the next few years as baby boomer CEOs retire, JWI’s Jewish Communal Women’s Leadership Project is clearing the path for women to ascend to these executive positions.
On May 11, 2021, Boardified hosted a Board Diversity Panel moderated by the founder of Boardified, Alicia Oberman, with guest speakers Elana Wien (SRE Network), Gamal Palmer, Ginna Green, and Robert Bank.
Speakers: Guila Benchimol & Rachel Jacoby Rosenfield, moderated by Rabbi Sarah Mulhern

SRE Network members and prospective members are eligible to sign up by August 6th to meet one-on-one (or in small groups if your organization would like to bring more than one representative) with an expert to discuss a content area relevant to their organization in August 2021.
Reb Steve will share coffee with Dr. Guila Benchimol and will discuss "The SRE (Safety, Respect, Equity) Network, Accountability, and Sexual Violence in Jewish Spaces."
This conversation will be broadcast live to the Beth Tzedec Facebook page and YouTube channel. Comment with your questions for Dr. Benchimol on either platform!
Get a chance to learn about the benefits of SRE Network membership, and the opportunity to ask questions about your organization’s recent member invitation or renewal. You’ll also meet the SRE team, hear about the work SRE Network is doing to advance safety, respect, and equity in Jewish spaces, and get a chance to connect with other SRE Network members. Whether you are a new member or just went through our renewal process, we’re looking forward to a chance to connect with you and say “welcome” or “welcome back!”
If you can't make the first session, don't worry, we have the same learnings on day 2! As we are seeing hiring rebound and opportunities for advancement rally inside our Jewish communal workplaces, we're collectively eager to renew our commitment to bringing an equity lens to these processes. Where can we begin? We'll look at changes big and small in the hiring process, from the constitution of hiring committees to mitigating bias from our processes and improving interactions with job seekers and candidates. In a job seeker's market, let's make sure that you have what you need to succeed, and find the best talent.
Creative and spiritual care can be a powerful tool to process and transform what we are experiencing for greater clarity, healing, and support. Join the SRE Network, Karen Erlichman, and Rebecca Katz for a virtual vigil of collective spiritual care and creative process. Using the Jewish Studio Process, we’ll gather to witness each other and go inward—checking in with ourselves and our individual + collective bodies about what is emerging in this moment. No artistic experience is necessary; use whatever art supplies you have on hand.
