2025 Year in Review

A Look Back on Our Work and Impact in 2025

As I look back on 2025, the challenging and often painful backdrop in which we do our work is impossible to ignore. Today, we are still mourning the lives lost from the tragic, antisemitic massacre on Bondi Beach on the first night of Chanukah. This was yet another painful reminder of the tension our Jewish communities have been grappling with for years: between our need for safety in the face of rising antisemitism and hatred, alongside our radical commitment to centering joy, religious tradition, and hope.

Jewish tradition teaches us elu v’elu (complexity, and multiple truths can exist at once). It is within this both/and backdrop, of pain and resilience, grief and connection, fear and hope, that we reflect on the year behind us.

Throughout 2025, SRE has been focused on what it takes for Jewish communal workplaces to be strong, just, and rooted in care for one another. We saw our community partners meet this complex moment with courage, imagination, and possibility. At SRE, we navigated our own internal transitions. And while this has not been the easiest year, it stretched us in meaningful ways and opened the door for reflection and bold dreaming.

This year, we created space for leaders to learn from one another and navigate emerging challenges; invested in organizations advancing gender equity and culture change; hosted learning sessions and published articles that sparked courageous conversations; and developed and shared resources to strengthen the systems that support safer and more equitable workplaces.

Below you’ll find highlights from this shared work, and I hope you’ll also take a moment to read the full Year in Review.

Thank you for your continued support in our work. We truly could not do any of this without you, and are so grateful for your partnership.

With deep gratitude,

Sincerely,

Rachel
