SRE Network Responds to the AJU Report by Cozen O’Connor

June 18, 2024 — In response to the announcement of the conclusion of Cozen O’Connor’s investigation into alumni complaints about sexism and harassment at American Jewish University (AJU), SRE applauds the courageous individuals who came forward to share their experiences and concerns with investigators in this report. We honor their bravery and hope their efforts in coming forward to share difficult experiences are not in vain.

SRE Network Interim Executive Director Shaina Wasserman stated:  “SRE appreciates AJU’s commitment to conduct this investigation and take steps toward building a safer, more respectful, and more equitable community culture. We also want to highlight the importance of and need for transparency when an outside review is conducted, of sharing publicly the report findings, recommendations, and anticipated action steps. Transparency is an important part of a healthy cultural shift and an essential part of the teshuvah (repentance) process.”
