This event has passed.

During the season of reflection and renewal, we joined Dr. Guila Benchimol and Rabba Yaffa Epstein for an interactive learning session on Thursday, September 18 grounded in the newly created Torah of SRE sourcesheet.

Together, we explored the values at the heart of SRE’s work – justice, equity, humility, and loving-kindness and asked:

  • Who do we want to become in the year ahead, guided by our values and morals?
  • What resolutions emerge when we align ourselves with these values?
  • How can we move from theory to practice as we embody these values in our daily lives?

About the Torah of SRE

The “Torah of SRE” is a sourcesheet created in 2025 by Dr. Guila Benchimol (SRE Network) and Rabba Yaffa Epstein (Jewish Education Project) to help our community use Jewish texts to imagine what it could look like if we treated each other according to the values of safety, respect, equity, justice, kindness, and humility.

The sourcesheet is framed around the central text, Micah 6:8:
"You have been told, Human Being, what is good, and what GOD requires of you:
Only to do justice,
And to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God."

Note: There is no expectation that you will have read through this sourcesheet in advance of the learning session.
